March in Review
Toward the end of each month, I will post a review of my 2019 goals, what I'm currently reading, as well as other tidbits of information. I hope you like these monthly posts. Let me know if you'd like to see other information in this roundup!
March Goals
- Get my steps every day | I accomplished this goal more than I have in months. So I'm celebrating that progress! Hopefully, with the warmer weather, I will continue to make progress here.
- No sugar during the week | I simply was not intentional with this goal this month.
- Meet my water goal every day | I made great progress here! Not perfect, but progress.
- Read a book every day | I accomplished this goal more than I have before. So again, I'm celebrating forward motion.
- Listen to a podcast weekly | I met this goal each week except one.
- Go on a walk weekly | Met this goal half the time, once the weather warmed up it was much easier.
- Brainstorm for Mothering with Purpose weekly | I only accomplished this goal once, as you can probably tell from the lack of posts.
- Deep clean something weekly | This goal was not accomplished whatsoever.
- Read aloud to the kids weekly | I only achieved this goal one week. But that week we read more than once. Ha!
- Pray for our church weekly | I accomplished this goal completely.
- Connect with each of the kids weekly | This is a new goal and was much harder than I anticipated. I'm talking about quality one-on-one connection. I was able to connect with each child at least once during the month. But I'll have to work at making this happen weekly.
- Celebrate Christina's Birthday | Hooray! She's 8! We had a great time celebrating her.
- Pray over my friendships | Accomplished. I feel so blessed in the friend department lately. I want to pray over them to continue to grow and be beneficial for both sides.
- Pray over my home and influence | Accomplished!
- Start our debt snowball | YES!!! It was so exciting!
Overall this month was another difficult month. I didn't make as much progress as I would have liked. Although nothing stands out as for why that is the case. Winter overall is a difficult season for me. So I'm hopeful that the coming months will provide more progress on my goals. And I will choose to see where small progress was made and celebrate it!
Currently Reading
- GraceLaced | I don't know why, but I didn't realize this was a devotional-style book. I guess I never read the description. I simply heard about it so much that I finally decided to read it. I am enjoying it, although my expectations were not quite what I thought.
- The Read-Aloud Family | I am loving this book all about the benefits of reading aloud to your children and making connections over books. I'm not far into it yet, but I want to grow in this goal and this book is the perfect catalyst for growth in this area.
- Full | This is a book about food fixation. I am really enjoying it and it is a very timely read for me as I am working on making better food choices.
My Favorite Things
- Strawberry Lemonade from Wendy's. So good. So refreshing. It's a great spring drink.
- Spring arriving! We were even able to open our windows a couple of days this month.
- Watercolor paints. The kids use and love these. It's worth it by far to invest in quality art supplies. It spurs on creativity and offers a remedy for boredom.
