July in Review

Toward the end of each month, I post a review of my 2019 goals, what I'm currently reading, as well as other tidbits of information. I hope you like these monthly posts. Let me know if you'd like to see other information in this roundup!

July Goals

I currently don't have any big goals. I'm planning to do a full re-evaluation of them for the fall. I'm simply taking a little breather when it comes to big goals. You can read more about my heart behind this reevaluation here. I do however have some summer goals that I'm working on:
  • Read with the kids and support them through our summer reading challenge | We have not been making much progress here. It's just been really slow. Because we've been so busy, there also simply hasn't been as much time to work on this. But I know that actually means I'm not making it a priority. So, I need to work on it!
  • Read to the kids | Despite putting books where I see them often, we are struggling to sit down and read. I'm hoping a new school routine will help us with that soon.
  • Have a fun summer accomplishing our bucket list | We continue to do great with this goal!

Currently Reading

  • Boundaries | Still listening to this one on audiobook. It is so good. I'm taking it slow and steady.
  • Searching for Spring | Still struggling to connect with this book, but I am determined to finish it! I'm so close! The content is great.
  • The Brave Learner | I haven't made much progress on this book this month because I've mostly been focusing on finishing the previous book listed above.
  • Grumpy Mom Takes a Holiday | Just starting this one and already finding it very encouraging.

My Favorite Things

  • A visit from my niece. As pictured above. We had a great week visiting with her and soaking up summer together!
  • Peanut Butter M&Ms. I have loved them ever since I've tried them, this month I just happened to enjoy them more than normal. Ha!
  • Hiking. We used to go on weekly hikes when the kids are younger. But life got hard and busy and we fell out of the habit. Well, we recently picked it back up and I am loving it!
