The Key to Blogging Success (or any area really)

Distractions hit. As they always do.

Sometimes it's life. Which I expect, although still don't weather well. But other times the distractions look like good work.

I've been brainstorming content ideas for days.

Tweaking pages on this blog.

Daydreaming about the future of this blog.

But here is the key to successful blogging, in my opinion:

You have to actually sit down and do the job of writing. You have to fight those distractions and do the work.

You can brainstorm for days, but you have to follow through.

You can tweak pages, but eventually, they are simply good enough and you have to let it go.

Please daydream and have high hopes for your online space. But don't let those fantasies keep you from facing reality and growing your right-now blog.

Of course, this can be applied to other areas as well.

You have a mile-long "to read" list that continues to grow. Eventually, you have to pick up a book and start reading.

Your child is struggling to read and you talk to everybody about it and search google constantly for tips and buy resources to help. Eventually, you have to sit down and work with them.

You can come up with all sorts of systems to help you keep the laundry monster under control. Eventually, you have to do the work of washing the clothes.

See? I think we all really know what needs to be done. The issue comes in actually doing the work needed.

So let's be women who do the work!
