May Goals
This month's Powersheets Tending List. |
My word of the year for 2020 is trust. You can read more about it here. I share this to say that this is a really good time to lean into this word.
We don't know the long-term effects of the coronavirus or what "normal" is going to look like. We don't know when certain things will be open again or what the future holds. It's a great time of uncertainty.
But again this month I'm going to quote Corrie Ten Boom:
Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.
I'm holding this one close this month as I grow in my trust in the Lord.
My 2020 goals can be found here for reference, and here are my specific goals for May:
Daily Goals
- No Phone 9-1 | This goal is working good, but still not quite the habit I want it to be. So I am going to continue to work on this goal this month. The ultimate goal here is that I would reach less for my phone all throughout the day. Which I did indeed notice last month.
- Drink 3 water bottles | I mentioned this in my April in Review post, but I'm doing really good on this goal on school days. But struggling on non-school days. So I'm going to work on that this month.
- Daily Liturgy Podcast | I'm loving this new goal and this new discovery for me. It has been a very encouraging addition to my day. This month I want to work on finding a specific time to listen each day.
- Read Aloud | I do great here on school days because reading aloud is central to our school time, but on non-school days we don't always read aloud. I want to change that. I want reading aloud to be a central part of our family culture.
Weekly Goals
- Move my body | I want to do better with this goal this month. I only achieved it half the time last month. I want to do better this month!
- Family Fun/Bucket List | We are making great progress on our spring bucket list and need to make sure to continue to achieve this goal once we finish it so we don't lose momentum.
- Spend time with the kids individually | I'm making great progress here and hope to continue making progress this month!
- Listen to a homeschool podcast | This is a very encouraging part of my week! I want to continue this habit.
- Listen to a chapter of Try Softer | I sometimes forget about the audiobooks I'm reading. So I'm adding this as a goal so that I can remember and dive into the book each week.
Monthly Goals
- Have a date with Michael | We will continue to have a special date night at home as long as we are in quarantine still.
- Read 2 chapters of The Storm-Tossed Family | I'm continuing to take this book slow and steady.
- Celebrate Michael's Birthday | So excited to celebrate my husband's Birthday. I got him a special Birthday cake that I hope he enjoys!
