October Goals

This month's Powersheets Tending List.

Fall is here in full swing in Louisville and I'm enjoying the cooler weather and breaking out my ankle booties.

With the beginning of any season, it's the perfect time to re-evaluate what we are doing and what goals we are aiming toward.

I took the time to work through my fall refresh (I actually brought you along on YouTube) and was surprised by a few things I discovered along the way.

I need more recreation. You'll see it below in a goal. But I need a hobby (or two!). I need to be pursuing things that make me come alive. Otherwise, I know all too well, I will burn out and that will be helpful for no one, myself included.

Another revelation I had was that I have made excellent progress on almost every goal. Truly I am so happy with the progress I've made. Little by little. Month by month. Progress is there and I am so happy!!!

But that doesn't mean I'm done. No ma'am. I am going to keep steady on course and finish this year strong.

What does that look like?

Pressing into what matters most to me.

Now I ask you, this year isn't over yet, how are you going to finish this year well? What do you need to let go of to finish well? And what do you need to press into?

My 2020 goals can be found here for reference, and here are my specific goals for October:

Daily Goals

  • Word before World | This goal went great last month and I'm excited to keep at it. It has helped my heart immensely.
  • Read | This is a goal to read during the day. I already have a great reading habit at night. But I want to add to that to get in more reading!

Weekly Goals

  • Family Fun/Bucket List | We just started our fall bucket list recently and will be working our way through those items. Most of all though, we will be creating memories of quality time spent together.
  • Spend time with the kids individually | This is such a good goal for me to help me intentionally set aside time to spend one-on-one with each of the kiddos.
  • Listen to a homeschool podcast | This one is so good for my heart and it helps me from growing weary or burn out.
  • Try a new activity to come alive | In doing my fall refresh of my Powersheets, I discovered that I wasn't doing too well in the recreation department and wanted to try some new things to help me come alive. So this month I'm hoping to try something new weekly.

Monthly Goals

  • Have a date with Michael | We didn't get to go on a date last month, so I'm really eager to get to spend some time together during October.
  • YouTube/Blog Brainstorm Session | This has helped me get the ideas out of my mind and on to a piece of paper!
  • Poetry Tea Time | I'm excited to bring back this activity. Instead of doing it weekly, like I've done before, we are going to make it a monthly activity. We already did this goal this month!
