November in Review

Toward the end of each month, I post a review of my goals, what I'm currently reading, a homeschool update, YouTube videos from that month, as well as other tidbits of information. I hope you like these monthly posts, they are usually well received. Let me know if you'd like to see other information in this roundup!

November Goals

You can find all of my 2020 goals here. Here are my November goals with updates:
  • Daily: Word Before World | I again achieved this goal every day. I think it has become a habit now!
  • Daily: Read | I struggled to accomplish this goal this month. I started out strong the first week and a half, and then hardly picked a book up during the day any other day of the month.
  • Weekly: Family Fun or Bucket List | Every week we did something together fun, at least once! This goal is growing good, friends. I feel a stronger sense of togetherness and I'm here for it!
  • Weekly: Spend time with each child individually | I finally met this goal every week for every child!!!
  • Weekly: Homeschool Encouragement | I accomplished this goal every week except one.
  • Weekly: Date Night In | Every week we carved out the time to watch our show together. The key here is scheduling it for a set day and time. This helps us immensely to accomplish this goal.
  • Monthly: Have a date with Michael | Done! We even went out again and ate on a heated patio. I loved spending time together. I don't think we will manage a date next month. But we will see what comes.
  • Monthly: YouTube/Blog Brainstorm Session | Did not accomplish this goal this month. Honestly, I've been feeling a little meh about YouTube and Blogging lately. But that could have to do with my mood as well. I'm in a little downswing right now.
  • Monthly: Poetry Tea Time | We did this again. And had a blast! I'm loving this monthly time together.
  • Monthly: Finish "Treasuring God in Our Traditions" | Because I have struggled with my reading goal, I did not accomplish this goal either.
  • Monthly: Prepare Christmas Cards to send out | Got this one done and even put our cards in the mail yesterday! Yay!!!
  • Monthly: Have a Thanksgiving Feast | It looked different because we didn't have anyone join us, but we still ate good food and enjoyed one another's company.
  • Monthly: Go to the Dentist | Got this one done too!

Homeschool News

  • We are back at school this week after a week-long break for Thanksgiving. We've got three more weeks (including this week) of school to finish our third term!!! So exciting.
  • We are changing things up again with spelling. I was just not happy with Spelling City. So I added BJU Press Spelling for my third graders and an Evan Moor spelling book for my 8th-grader. We are still very new to it, so I won't speak to its effectiveness for our family yet.
  • I'm adding some Timed Tests for math for my 3rd-graders to help with speed and memorization. This is very new too. Just starting this week.
  • We are continuing to add some fun things from the Winter Homeschool Bundle to our homeschool this month. I am excited to browse through the Christmas materials and print some off to utilize this month!
